Atypic Chocolate founders Charles and Chi have been working 8 years together in chocolate, pastry and baking industry. The idea to start Atypic bean to bar shop came about because they wanted to bring the cocoa culture to Melbourne. As they are in Australia, Atypic uses pacific islands cocoa beans and local ingredients to support the Australian economy. Charles and Chi visit the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu cocoa plantations to choose cocoa beans from the farm directly each year; with plans to expand to Papua New Guinea.
