Deep in the heart of China, there was a temple of Guan Yin, The Goddess of Mercy. A poor farmer was taking care of the old temple, but he was too poor to do it properly. One day, Guan Yin appeared to him in a dream and said that in recognition of his kindness there was a great gift for him that must be shared freely with others. The gift was a little seedling of tea plant. From this seedling the farmer and his villagers grew tea with unrivaled taste. The cultivation brought them prosperity and thanks to that they could take care of the temple much better. The most popular tea in China received the name of the Goddess of Mercy.
