I purchase all kinds of chocolate for my son but this Old School Dark 66% is the only one he actually eats!!! He absolutely loves it. When I found out how much he enjoyed it I got him a couple of packages for his birthday. Highlight of the day!
SOMA's Old School Dark is so dang delish!
Due to the way it's minimally made, it has a textured unique mouthfeel.
So try it, I really think you'll love it!
I think by far this is the most special chocolate I have ever tried and I do like it a lot. If you are searching for smth new, you should try this one. Consistency is harsh and this is the part I like about the chocolate the most. It tastes row and natural. Flavor is very intense too. Plus it looks pretty different from the regular smooth chocolates - you can see the rough texture.
I was expecting nothing, but I falled in love with the taste and texture! Complexity is there, but the key role here is just plain fun!
The Old School bar is not what I'm used to due to its coarse texture from minimal processing. Nevertheless, it is still quite tasty and fun to eat with a distinctive mouthfeel.

Collection description: Perhaps one of the most famous origins in the world, Akesson’s Estate consists of several individual farms in northwestern Madagascar’s Sambirano Valley. The most prolific of these is certainly Bejofo Estate, which alone produces around 300 tons of cocoa each year. Over the last decade, Malagasy cacao (cacao grown on Madagascar) has earned a reputation for fruity, almost juicy cacao beans, which transform into some of the most unique chocolate in the world. All of the cacao grown on Akesson Estate is organic-certified.

Collection title: SOMA Chocolatemaker
Collection description: Soma was founded by David Castellan and Cynthia Leung in 2003. A rarity in the industry, Soma are adept at both chocolate making, and also a fantastic chocolatier. At the time, ‘bean to bar’ chocolate wasn’t necessarily even a term! Anybody who knew how to make chocolate were those who worked for big chocolate companies. Soma was one of the first to tackle the micro batch chocolate bar production. Besides their wonderful line of chocolate bars, Soma also uses their chocolate to make ganache for truffles, and other chocolate treats. Soma's high quality chocolate bars have been awarded multiple times over the years. First starting off in a 400 square foot tiny corner of an old whiskey distillery, Soma now has two chocolate factories in Toronto, Canada.
