Flavor wise, I would say this bar is not too complex, but it is a rather bitter chocolate with the main focus on its strong roasted flavor, with some nuttiness and a subtle hint of savory. It is also noticeably not acidic unlike many other 100% bars. Imagine roasted coffee. The rather dark brown coloration also suggest that it has perhaps been roasted a bit on the high temperature side.
Texture wise, this is a very finely ground chocolate, and coats your tongue well due to the slight stickiness from the finely ground cocoa particles, which gives it a dense texture. However it is not too sticky or slimy so it still feels pretty smooth despite the slight resistance.
If you like a dense, bitter and roasted 100% bar, this is definitely for you.
This 100% bar, out of my expectation, does not have any sour taste that most dark chocolates have; it is bitter and nutty as is advertised. It has the flavor of a dark toast coffee. So I would recommend it to someone looking for bitterness rather than fruitiness. I also like it’s packaging; there are 2x32.5 packs in one case, very easy to consume for multiple times.
every 100% bar i've tried from Labooko has been great. the Ecuador single origin might be my favorite, but this one here, Peru single origin, is very tasty. a good balance of nutty and fruity undertones with a thick/dense and smooth texture.
