Maker

Hogarth

Hogarth Chocolate is a small craft chocolate maker in Nelson, New Zealand. The founders Karl and Marina started making chocolate after Karl was inspired by craft chocolate after a trip to South America when he tasted pure cacao for the first time. Karl was inspired by the true flavors of chocolate is capable of. Their chocolate hobby evolved into a business so Karl could spend more time at home with his family, a completely different direction from his 20 years of former seafaring life. Karl tinkers with and makes machines to make the chocolate making process more efficient and precise. The team at Hogarth is always on a mission to find new inspiration from the world to be transformed into their next chocolate bar.

A great lighter dark chocolate

Excellent piura bar. This bar will surely please even those who aren’t fans of dark chocolate.

Love Norandino Coop in Peru!

We have consistently loved bars made with cacao from the Norandino Coop in Peru, and this bar did not disappoint. It has a bright flavor with fruit, honey, and a touch of acidity, my wife and i found it reminiscent of a delicious, fruity champagne. Really light and crisp flavor, sweet but not overly sweet. Would highly recommend.

Thank You Chocolate Club!

This came as one of the monthly chocolate club offerings, and I’m very happy it did. It’s Peruvian, and high-quality. It’s a smooth, creamy bar, and I taste notes of caramel and banana (definitely not a stone fruit!). This is the bar that should please those who like super dark chocolate and those who like semisweet chocolate. In case you haven’t guessed, I really like this bar, and I recommend to all chocolate lovers, even those who say they like only milk chocolate.
