Couple duo Alastair and Friederike Gower created Chocolate Tree back in 2005 in Scotland. Before ‘craft bean to bar’ chocolate was an actual term used by many, they were selling their chocolate at music festivals from a hand crafted solar powered tent. Chocolate Tree strives to protect the biodiversity of each cacao heirloom they work with by visiting each of the farms and connecting with those who they work with. Their process is very meticulously from each step to ensure high quality chocolate that as granted them multiple awards for their chocolate bars.

Collection description: The Marañón River is the mainstem source of the Amazon River, flowing through a deeply-eroded Andean valley called the Marañón Canyon, also known as Marañón River Valley. Northern Peru’s famous nacional bean was rediscovered in this area many years ago, a finding which has since brought incredible fame to the Don Fortunato Farm, as well as the entire region’s cacao (no matter the varietal). The Marañon River is the second-longest river in Peru.
