Maker
Fjåk ChocolateFjåk Chocolate, Norway’s first bean to bar chocolate maker! Fjåk focuses on ethically traded, organic cacao beans while using fresh ingredients inspired by their surrounding Nordic nature. Starting the chocolate journey in 2015, owners Agur and Siv spent two years experimenting and perfecting their chocolate. Fjåk was officially launched in 2017 and already won multiple awards by 2018. The name Fjåk comes from the Hardanger dialect, where people in the region would refer to each other as fjåk. It roughly translates to ‘loveable’ or ‘honest’ and well chocolate is the most loveable thing in the world!
Cacao Estate
Semuliki ForestLocated in Bundibugyo, Western Uganda, Semuliki Forest Cacao is grown by over a thousand organic smallholder farmers in the region, more than half of whom are women. Latitude Trade Co. (LTC), the company that processes and exports this cacao, has organized 6 rural collection points for farmers to access, where every week they can sell fresh into the network and receive cash payment immediately. Latitude's centralized fermentation facility and warehouse is strategically located in the village of Bumate, where they can receive optimal natural light and limited impact from rainfall. All Semuliki Forest cacao is certified organic.
Solid chocolate bar. Nothing amazing, but has a nice milk chocolate taste to it.
Milk chocolate which isn’t overly sweet. Highly recommend.
