This limited edition set from Fruition Chocolate includes 4 bars from across different regions of Peru: Piura, Cuzco (Chuncho), and Cajamarca (Maranon). Fruition crafted one 73% dark bar from each origin, and then one dark milk 68% blending them all into one special rendition for you to enjoy.

This set features ethically and transparently sourced cacao through their partners Aurelio Loret de Mola and Marco Fernandez Concha at Amazon Specialties and Brian Horsely and Dan Pearson at Maranon Chocolate. 

Ingredients: cocoa beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder (in 68% bar only) This set contains milk and may contain traces of nuts.

Fruition Chocolate

Fruition Chocolate was created in 2011 by Bryan Graham located in Shokan, NY. Graham, was always interested in pastry as a young boy and has worked his way as a pastry chef. Over the years, Fruition is keen on exceptional attention to detail from the calibration of ingredients, packaging, and appearance of the bar (mold, snap, color) make them one of our top bean to bar craft chocolate makers in the world. Fruition has won many awards for their bars over the years, including ‘Best in Competition” Fruition was one of the first bean to bar makers to experiment with new concepts such as bourbon-barrel aging and creating bars with just two ingredients.

Cacao Region

Cuzco, Peru

Cuzco is both a city and a department of Peru, famous as the home of the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. The department is located in the southeast of the country; much of the landscape is made up of high-altitude settlements, especially in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, known as the gateway to Machu Picchu. Cuzco’s primary earnings come from tourism, but gold and natural gas extraction are also important. Native types of corn and quinoa, as well as tea and coffee, are the principal agricultural focuses, albeit at lower altitudes.

Cacao Strain

Chuncho

Chuncho cacao encompasses around a dozen related cultivars of the Upper Amazon Forastero group, now considered to be native to the Quillabamba Valley of central Peru. They’re believed to have been domesticated by the Matshiguenga people, whose members were ancestral inhabitants of the Valley. Chuncho trees bear small yellow fruits with small beans (less than 1g per bean), known for their high fat content and very high-altitude growing region (400m-1400m).
