This Switchgrass / Honeymoon Collab is a pairing that was developed over the last 60 weeks of testing with their favorite local distillery. The process of crafting this bar began with finding their own custom barrel of Char 3 Whiskey from Switchgrass Spirits in Saint Louis. The barrel-proof whiskey was gently reduced down to remove any alcohol. This whiskey shares the stage with Honeymoon's Haitian caca + locally freeze-dried apples.
Ingredients: cacao, raw honey, cacao butter, rye whiskey, apple

Maker
Honeymoon ChocolatesHoneymoon Chocolates is a bean to bar craft chocolate maker that sweetens all their bars with raw honey. Self taught co founders Cam and Haley started making chocolate without refined sugar in 2016. They aim to both make a healthier lower glycemic chocolate, but also support honeybee research. Their packaging uses compostable and sustainable paper stock and sugar cane labels.
Quite distinct taste. If you love coffee, you can't miss it.
Barely any snap, close to a fudge texture, your teeth sink right through. Good for folks who like their coffee flavors on the bitter side. Neither the chocolate nor the coffee nor the pumpkin spice flavors lingered and there's a bitter aftertaste. I wanted to like this so badly because I love their mission and the recyclable packaging.
