We listened to our customers who want something darker than 85% chocolate bar, but not all the way 100% sugar free chocolate. A simple mathematics and we arrive at 92% cocoa content. Nice consistent increment from the previous two.

As you get over the idea of searching the faint hint of sweetness, you can really taste and enjoy the nuttiness and earthiness of the chocolate. A good pairing recommendation on this chocolate would be a good glass of dessert wine or port, as well as a good cup of cappuccino in the morning.

Flavors notes you may taste: macadamia nuts, malt, berry.

The owner of the cacao farm of Camino Verde, Vicente Norero, has years of experience in microbiology, which brings a unique approach to cocoa farming. This knowledge and passion for impeccable quality and consistency in beans are the reasons why Camino Verde cacao beans are well-known in the craft chocolate world.

Raphio Chocolate

Raphio Chocolate is made from scratch with only organic and natural ingredients. Chocolate maker Elisia hand selects her cacao beans to make pure, healthy chocolate in Fresno, California. Introduced to craft chocolate by her husband in 2014, the simplicity of ingredients used is what inspired Elisia. She wanted to create a minimally processed chocolate bar that was healthy for kids to consume as well. Raphio was inspired by her two sons Raphael and Rio. She wanted to give her sons treats without the harsh sugars and other ingredients involved as well as the desire to promote healthy chocolate especially for parents! Raphio has already earned national and international awards for their chocolate.

Guayas is a coastal province in western Ecuador, home to the city of Guayaquil, which is both the nation’s largest city and the main port of the country. Thanks in no small part to Guayaquil— undeniably the center of the region’s economy & culture— Guayas is also the most populous province in Ecuador. The majority of its land is dedicated to agriculture, in turn dominated by sugarcane, rice, and various tropical fruits.

Camino Verde

The Camino Verde (Spanish for green path) cacao brand started off as a single estate endeavor by fermentation expert & microbiologist Vicente Norero. Over the years it’s evolved into a centralized fermentary in the Duran region, sourcing cacao from a number of nearby farmers in order to process all of it in one place. With Vicente’s deep understanding of fermentation methods, he produces a variety of flavor profiles using both his own cacao and that from nearby farms. While the blend of estates also means a range of unique tasting notes, all Camino Verde cacao is carefully processed and certified organic.

It has a slightly bitter flavor but in a good way -- I almost got addicted after a few pieces.

Cool packaging - I like the little see through window. Good snap. Clean and smooth texture. Intense and lingering roasted nut taste.
