Raphio Chocolate

Raphio Chocolate is made from scratch with only organic and natural ingredients. Chocolate maker Elisia hand selects her cacao beans to make pure, healthy chocolate in Fresno, California. Introduced to craft chocolate by her husband in 2014, the simplicity of ingredients used is what inspired Elisia. She wanted to create a minimally processed chocolate bar that was healthy for kids to consume as well. Raphio was inspired by her two sons Raphael and Rio. She wanted to give her sons treats without the harsh sugars and other ingredients involved as well as the desire to promote healthy chocolate especially for parents! Raphio has already earned national and international awards for their chocolate.

Cacao Region

San Martín, Peru

San Martin is a department in the northwest of Peru, known domestically for its national parks. Like much of Peru, it’s quite mountainous, with a generally warm climate, depending on the altitude. The department’s principal crop is the oil palm, which is grown on monoculture farms, though rice, yucca, tobacco, and cacao are also important crops for smallholder farmers.

El Gran Saposoa is a farmer cooperative started in Peru’s Amazon Basin in 2008, with the goal of earning their farmers better and more consistent prices for their high quality cacao. Saposoa farmers have come to pride themselves on both their cacao quality and their dedication to preserving the rainforest around them at all times, from growing & harvesting their cocoa to processing and shipping it out of the region. Over a decade later, their farmers are now delivering fine flavor cocoa beans to makers around the world, all certified Organic and Fair Trade, as well as UTZ and Rainforest Alliance-approved.

Delicious Peruvian dark chocolate

Delicate, dark berry notes along with deep, rich and robust dark chocolate richness

Excellent flavor

As seems to be typical with the cocoa from Peru, the flavor is distinct, and of the highest quality. This is a chocolate you will want to return to. It is complex with a floral beginning that blossoms into a tangy delight. Highly recommend.
