Tastes like… Sweet and fudgy with a punch of fruity, Ethiopian coffee.

You will like this if… You're a coffee drinker! We put a nice dollop of freshly-ground, lightly-roasted Ethiopian coffee straight into the bar. The bright, fruity coffee roasted by Caffé Vita melds well with the dark Uganda cacao.

Ingredients: cacao, organic cane sugar, ground coffee bean, roasted

Maker

Spinnaker Chocolate

Chris and Kelly Van Arsdale are self taught chocolate makers who started Spinnaker Chocolate in October 2021. The name Spinnaker is inspired by their love for the ocean, and they are avid sailors, snorkelers, divers, paddle boarders, and more. 1% of their profits go towards cleaning up ocean and marine debris. Being very quality and scientifically driven, one unique aspect of their chocolate making process is that they roast after they shelling the beans. This gives a more consistent roast profile and enhances the flavor of their chocolate. Spinnaker has already made waves in the awards scene, garnering several awards in their first year.

Cacao Estate

Semuliki Forest

Located in Bundibugyo, Western Uganda, Semuliki Forest Cacao is grown by over a thousand organic smallholder farmers in the region, more than half of whom are women. Latitude Trade Co. (LTC), the company that processes and exports this cacao, has organized 6 rural collection points for farmers to access, where every week they can sell fresh into the network and receive cash payment immediately. Latitude's centralized fermentation facility and warehouse is strategically located in the village of Bumate, where they can receive optimal natural light and limited impact from rainfall. All Semuliki Forest cacao is certified organic.
