APROCACI

APROCACI, or the Asociación de Productores de Cacao del Cibao, is an association of cacao producers in the northern Dominican Republic. The association was founded in 1997, and now works with hundreds of cacao farmers in the provinces of Salcedo and Duarte. Each farmer is in charge of processing and transporting their own cacao, with a small post-harvest processing facility made available by the association to farmers not-yet equipped to do it on their own land. Most of APROCACI’s farmers use organic farming methods, with 900+ tons of organic-certified cacao produced by the association each year. Show Less
