Florencio Orgeta is a third generation family business dedicated for over 80 years to the production of organic cocoa. Don Florencio was passionate about cocoa growing and saw his farm as a gift from nature. He and his children grew up on the farm, always respecting the environment and natural cycles.
The 6-hectare farm is located in La Piragua, Espaillat province, in the foothills of the Septentrional mountain range – a location with perfect conditions for growing cocoa. Fermentation is done in wooden boxes for seven days, followed by solar drying on wooden racks for approx. eight days, using only natural sunlight. The beans are then cleaned by hand to ensure only the best beans are preserved.
