Collection: Napo, Ecuador
Napo is one of the 24 provinces of Ecuador, located in the northern reaches of the country’s Amazonian region. It’s also one of the most sparsely-populated provinces, with only ~130K residents and half of its land covered by the easten Andes Mountains. Napo is notably home to the ancestral lands of the Huaorani people of the Ecuadorian Amazon, whose hunter-gatherer way of living is now threatened by continued oil exploration & illegal logging in the region.
