Cotopaxi is an Ecuadorian province smack in the center of the country, just south of the capital city of Quito. The province is perhaps best known for the national park and its volcano of the same name, which draw thousands of visitors each month. A significant portion of the province is indigenous Ecuadorian, most of whom work in agriculture. Corn, potatoes, wheat, and flowers for export are the most common crops in the temperate zones, while cacao, coffee, and sugarcane dominate the province’s most tropical areas. Show Less
