The gateway to Venezuela for over four hundred years, the coastal region of Puerto Cabello is still a major center for cocoa trading with Europe. This bar carries very fine and toned notes of cocoa, almost nutty, like macadamia nuts, while the smooth cocoa base note perfumes the palate for a long time. Thanks to traditional French chocolate making techniques, this bar is creamy with a quick melt, without the addition of milk. All Bonnat bars are certified Kosher-Parve

Maker
BonnatChocolat Bonnat is a French chocolate maker that started in 1884 and has been handed down the family for generations. Made in a traditional style, the single origin chocolate bars here are super rich from added cocoa butter, giving them all an amazing melt mouthfeel. Since the 1980's Bonnat has continued to pioneer the creation of single origin bars. They work with 35 different plantations around the globe to produce bars that showcase each cacao’s unique flavor. Bonnat works closely with each farmer, so he can see first hand each vital step that goes into his fine quality chocolate bars.
Cacao Region
Carabobo, VenezuelaEncompassing the famous cacao-growing municipalities of Puerto Cabello and Trincheras, Carabobo grows some of the finest criollo cacao varietals in the world. The region is predominantly rural, with national parks, natural cloud forests, and innumerable cacao plantations dotting the landscape as far as the eye can see. Its easy access to international ports is part of what has allowed the region’s cacao estates to flourish on the global market, as in the early years, much of the country’s cacao was shipped from one of those two harbors.
Flavours are softer and floaty, but still have some carry lasting just short of a full round.
A favorite. Pure chocolate, no fillers.
As with all the other Bonnat dark bars, the texture is the stand-out here. It's melt-in-your-mouth perfection from the cocoa-butter-forward texture and expert chocolate-making. The chocolate flavor is excellent but, as with many Bonnat bars, mild and well-balanced. It is not overly "fruity" - it's just a smooth and perfect dark chocolate.
