It’s located less than 30 miles from the border with Ecuador, and enjoys a year-round tropical rainforest climate, even on the region’s many beaches. Most of the residents of Tumaco are Afro-Colombian or indigenous peoples, many of whom rely upon agriculture to make their living; largely in either rice, oil palm, or cacao.
