Amano is a small batch chocolate producer located in Orem, Utah. The founder Art Pollard seeks out unusual cacao beans, buying them directly from farms, and sometimes even working with the farmers to improve fermentation and drying. First hand control over the process ensures the best quality cacao to make the best chocolate possible. Amano has won many awards including International Chocolate Awards, Good Food Awards, London Academy of Chocolate, and more. When Pollard decided he wanted to tackle the world of chocolate making, many people didn’t think it was possible. Amano has proven their dedication, by creating their own machines from scratch, and learning everything there is to learn about chocolate.

Great 70% bar!

Intense fruity aromas with tasting notes of jam and berries. Smooth melt in the mouth with good level of sweetness. I don't sense the vanilla strongly but perhaps that is the point. A tasty 70% regardless.

This is such a lovely blend of orange and floral with an almost boozy undertone. Great bar.

Another must-have

The perfect balance of bitter and fruity/floral favor. I feel like I could have devoured this bar in one sitting. This is definitely one I will not only buy again, but will actively seek out in the future.

Best of the bunch

I'm not typically a fan of the Amano bars due to the added vanilla (which I find distracts from the pure chocolate flavor). Having said that, this is my favorite Amano bar in their collection. The vanilla actually complements the fruity and floral notes of the bar quite well. The vanilla balances out the sharper more acidic flavors of the bar and smooths it out nicely.
