"Years ago, I found a beautiful cocoa plantation that has forever caught my imagination. On this particular day, it was overcast and the cocoa trees were new and laden with a rainbow of cocoa pods. It was very peaceful with the exception of the tropical birds chirping and squawking. As the light came through the leaves, I could not help but feel if there was a garden of Eden, it had to be just like this. Ever since, I have wanted to make chocolate with beans from this magical place.
It took seven years. As they say, good things come to those who wait. I hope this chocolate is as special for you as it is for me."

Amano Artisan ChocolateAmano is a small batch chocolate producer located in Orem, Utah. The founder Art Pollard seeks out unusual cacao beans, buying them directly from farms, and sometimes even working with the farmers to improve fermentation and drying. First hand control over the process ensures the best quality cacao to make the best chocolate possible. Amano has won many awards including International Chocolate Awards, Good Food Awards, London Academy of Chocolate, and more. When Pollard decided he wanted to tackle the world of chocolate making, many people didn’t think it was possible. Amano has proven their dedication, by creating their own machines from scratch, and learning everything there is to learn about chocolate.
This is a splendid example of excellence in artisan chocolate making. As described on its label there are flavor hints of Apricots and Cream. Even if your flavor preferences run the opposite direction, I think you will greatly appreciate this chocolate. As you chew and the chocolate melts the flavors keep coming. Excellent and highly recommended.
Very smooth and rich with a touch of earthy/nutty/mocha taste. It's so subtle, yet perfectly complimentary.
Amano, I could write odes to your ravishing bars... This one has a gorgeous molasses-y flavor, which melts beautifully into brown sugar, cream and apricot. Impressive as usual, but much subtler than the rest of the Amano fleet. A very pure and beautiful chocolate. If you like bolder flavor profiles try their Madagascar (tart/nutty), Morobe (lime/leather, I don't think they sell that one here but its phenomenal), Guayas (brownie/balsamic) or Dos Rios (soft citrus/floral).. basically all of their other bars have 'stronger' notes, it just depends on what you are looking for.
Wonderful rich and earthy flavor. I give it 4 stars because it doesn't reach the depth of their Madagascar bar.
