Maker
ChocolarderChocolarder is a small batch chocolate maker in Cornwall, UK. The founder Mike Longman, a former pastry chef has made award winning single origin bars since 2012. Chocolarder believes in the ‘ethical transparency’, which starts right at bean to bar. Longman ensures to build meaningful relationships with the farmers with the direct trade model to make sure farmers are being recognized for their hard work. Chocolarder picks only the finest beans to be produced into the chocolate bars. Chocolarder also believes that less is more with ingredients providing a top quality organic experience with health benefits as well.
Cacao Region
Apurímac, PeruApurímac is a predominantly Quechua-speaking department in the Andean region of south-central Peru. The population of just under half a million residents is primarily rural, depending upon agriculture, the service industry, and a small-but-growing mining industry. Apurimac’s average altitude is quite high, at just over 9000 feet, so the climate is generally temperate; most farmers depend upon native crops, like potatoes, quinoa, and corn.
100% chocolate is one of my favorite things. I’ve tried 49 different brands so far and this was by far one of the best! An absolute delight. Highly recommend.
5/5
Try this one! It has a rich, nutty flavor and fudgy texture. Possibly one of the best 100% bars.
After tasting all of the brands producing 100 percent cocoa in B&C's selection, this bar from Chocolarder shares first place with Cacaosuyo's in my pure chocolate universe. Full, rich, enveloping flavor unfolds immediately upon contact with the tongue. Velvety, tingling, slightly sweet, with no hint of bitterness, an absolute pleasure to diffuse in your mouth. Slightly dry, textural aftertaste. Doesn't linger as long as Cacaosuyo, but still very satisfying long after the solids dissolve. I highly recommend giving this one a try, even if you are not normally a 100 percent cacao bar fan.
chocolarder really nailed it with this one! packaging is nice, the bay is very very good. texture is not the creamiest (a slight chalk feel?) but honestly the excellence of the flavor far outweighs the texture for me. highly recommend
