Slightly salted dark chocolate-coated Italian almonds, made by their talented team of chocolate makers in Falmouth.

As always, their process starts with incredible cocoa beans grown with care and attention by the all-female cooperative in the Virunga National Park, Congo. They roast, crack, and winnow, grind, refine, and conch the beans into chocolate, before aging it in giant blocks. They have a giant copper panner which is used to coat the chocolate around the outside of the nuts, in their factory full of incredible machines, this is one of the most striking. The nuts tumble around in the chocolate as it sets, leaving them polishing against each other to leave an even layer of chocolate around the nut.

They are finished with a dusting of Chocolarder's own pressed cocoa powder.

A wonderful alternative to a bottle of wine, perfect for sharing or snacking on yourself over a few sittings. One thing is for sure, pop these open at a dinner party and you are sure to impress.

The challenge is not to eat them all at once!

Chocolarder is a small batch chocolate maker in Cornwall, UK. The founder Mike Longman, a former pastry chef has made award winning single origin bars since 2012. Chocolarder believes in the ‘ethical transparency’, which starts right at bean to bar. Longman ensures to build meaningful relationships with the farmers with the direct trade model to make sure farmers are being recognized for their hard work. Chocolarder picks only the finest beans to be produced into the chocolate bars. Chocolarder also believes that less is more with ingredients providing a top quality organic experience with health benefits as well.

Virunga, Democratic Republic of the Congo

Virunga National Park is located in the Albertine Rift Valley in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was created in 1925 and is among the first protected areas in Africa. Most of the people living within the park rely upon tourism or agriculture to make a living, including those who farm cacao within its limits. Swiss chocolate maker Original Beans maintains a long-term partnership with thousands of farmers in this region, buying their organic-certified cacao with the return promise of sustainable cultivation within the Park.
