Cupuacu, a regionally robust tropical fruit growing abundantly amongst cacao, is crystallized and covered in deliciously rich 70% dark chocolate for your snacking delight. A cousin of cacao in the same genus Theobroma, Cupuacu is a tropical treasure. Sweet, sour, and citrusy, this pod shaped fruit proliferates among the Amazonian rainforest. When crystalized, the texture and flavor are unlike any other.

Cacao Region

Amazonas, Peru

Amazonas is an Amazonian department of Peru, located in the north of the country. The vast and deep Marañón valley is partially located in Amazonas, and constitutes one of the most important physical features of the region. With a tropical landscape that includes steep river gorges and mountains, most of the department is still a part of the rainforest, an integral part of its main economic activity: agriculture. The most important crops in Amazonas are coffee, rice, cacao, and a variety of regional fruit trees.
