Soma was founded by David Castellan and Cynthia Leung in 2003. A rarity in the industry, Soma are adept at both chocolate making, and also a fantastic chocolatier. At the time, ‘bean to bar’ chocolate wasn’t necessarily even a term! Anybody who knew how to make chocolate were those who worked for big chocolate companies. Soma was one of the first to tackle the micro batch chocolate bar production. Besides their wonderful line of chocolate bars, Soma also uses their chocolate to make ganache for truffles, and other chocolate treats. Soma's high quality chocolate bars have been awarded multiple times over the years. First starting off in a 400 square foot tiny corner of an old whiskey distillery, Soma now has two chocolate factories in Toronto, Canada.

Great combination

My two favourite flavours combined, the sweetness of white chocolate with the bitterness of the caramelised sugar. I really like that there is so much of the caramelised bits. Instant dessert!

Pretty… pretty… pretty… good!

This was delicious. I agree with other reviewers that it’s a bit pricey at $20usd, I’d say even $18 and I’d purchase again. It was lovely… strong notes of vanilla. And really the presentation was lovely. Incredible packaging. I bought it to pass around the christmas tree and it was perfect!

Good and lots of vanilla, but probably not worth the price

I enjoyed the bark quite a bit. I liked how much vanilla there was and the creme brulee pieces were nice. You definitely didn't need a big piece to enjoy and it was nicely balanced so it satiated your craving rather than endlessly wanting more and not fully enjoying it. While very good, I think the price was a bit steep- so I'd say hope you can get it on sale/ discount to purchase it (though unlikely as it is a holiday specialty).
