Cacao trees in Ben Tre have been planted together with coconut trees so the succulent taste of cacao beans may be affected by coconut. Tastewise, this chocolate bar brings the fresh acidic flavor of berries mixed with kiwi. Shortly after, you will enjoy its smooth texture as well as the velvety sweetness.

Maker
Belvie ChocolateBased in Vietnam, Belvie Chocolate is a bean to bar maker that handcrafts their chocolate bars with Belgian techniques. They source cacao from all over Vietnam, then stone grind and produce their chocolate in small batches. Their award winning chocolate also contributes to the preservation of cacao trees in Vietnam. They take the husks of the cacao as fertilizer for the trees to help maintain a green environment. Belvie uses Trinitario cacao beans only from local farmers to help restore cacao trees throughout Vietnam and mostly importantly, to help support the farmers.
Cacao Region
Ben Tre, VietnamBen Tre is a province in the Mekong Delta area of southern Vietnam, southwest of Ho Chi Minh City. During the Tet Offensive in 1968, Ben Tre City was nearly destroyed by anti-communist bombing, but the province has since recovered, now home to a strong tourism market due to its location along the Mekong Delta. Otherwise, much of the region's economy is based in rice production and tropical agriculture, including notable amounts of coconut and cacao.
RRachel G.Imagine a dollop of Greek yogurt, creamy and tangy. It is then sweetened generously with brown sugar, a hint of cinnamon. On top, it is dominated by a mix of ripe blackberries, mangosteen and orange-fleshed nectarines. Is your mouth watering? Mine was each second of the slow melt of this bar 🤤 Towards the very end, the cinnamon and molasses of brown sugar will strengthen and linger after that juicy composition fades.
CCharlotteBelvie does single origin so well. Silky, well layered and delicious. This bar starts out spicy, woody and fragrant, with campfire smoke notes then flows smoothly into red berries and subtle coconut and finishing with a lingering nutmeg.
JJ.N.This bar was quite a surprise to me. I really enjoyed it as did my wife.
ccaterinaA very good Ben Tre example. Fruity, smooth, creamy without losing spiciness.
