Ben Tre is a province in the Mekong Delta area of southern Vietnam, southwest of Ho Chi Minh City. During the Tet Offensive in 1968, Ben Tre City was nearly destroyed by anti-communist bombing, but the province has since recovered, now home to a strong tourism market due to its location along the Mekong Delta.
