White chocolate with cream cheese and guava chunks. A combination that is referred to as Romeo and Juliet in Latin America. If you think you are too mature for white chocolate... this is the bar you need to try. Inspired by all their travels in LatAm and all the smiles they witnessed when people put a slice of guava on cheese.

Sweet surprise!

I love Mission Chocolate! Let’s start with the tactile, thick paper that wraps this ROMEO AND JULIET bar. It sets the stage for something really wonderful inside. This is a cream cheese white chocolate + guava chunks bar. And opening it is like opening a love letter. Look at that guava heart in the corner! Oh, Romeo! Knowing the star-crossed lovers ended tragically should not make you leery of this bar. The white chocolate offers up the cream cheese flavor without too much sweetness. And the dried (slightly sugared?) guava chunks are a fun surprise. This one is made to be savored, but will I have the willpower to make it last? Parting is such sweet sorrow... #beantobar #missionchocolate #thatstheonlyshakespeareiknow #whitechocolate #thechocoholicsguide

Yummy

This bar was a little different. The white chocolate was distinctly flavorful, and the guava pieces were a nice addition. Maybe a tad sweet for my tastes. Worth a try!

It was fine. Couldn’t taste the cream cheese and the guava was difficult to taste. There was so much sugar that it overpowered the subtle guava flavors and kept them from coming through.

Delicious and Beautiful Chocolates

I sampled the Mission chocolates at the Dallas Chocolate Festival, and this is one of the best chocolates I have tasted. After watching how Arcelia selects her cacao beans and goes through the entire process of making bean to bar, I can see why her chocolates are top notch. I also met her in person, and part of what makes the chocolate taste good is that the maker is also a kind human being. She took the time to explain the story behind each chocolate bar, and I personally loved all of the ones I sampled. Especially the ones with the native Brazilian fruits. Lastly, her chocolate bars are beautifully packaged. It shows how much thought and love she has invested in her chocolates. Thank you for taking the time to talk with us Arcelia! We hope you continue to come to the Dallas Chocolate Festival. I will definitely be ordering your chocolates online and sending them to loved ones!
