Coto Brus

Coto Brus is a valley region in southern Costa Rica that survived the devastating Monilia fungal plague of the 1970s by preserving pre-outbreak genetics. The region became the only Costa Rican cacao to earn Heirloom Cacao Preservation designation for its rare genetic survival and consequent unique flavor profile. These ancient trees produce cacao of exceptional character and historical significance.
