Map of Trinidad with a black marker pointing to a Tamana region

Tamana

Tamana is a tropical but mountainous region in central Trinidad, and a small-but-mighty force for the island’s native trinitario cacaos. The region has many cocoa estates, both active and abandoned, that tell quite a story of its past involvements in Trinidad’s cocoa history. But beyond its cacao, Tamana is perhaps best-known for Mount Tamana and the tourist attraction that is the Tamana Bat Caves, hollowed into the side of the mountain.
