Ranger ChocolateRanger Chocolate Co. has been crafting chocolate in Portland, Oregon since 2013. Based on family recipes and named after founder George Domurot’s niece - a National Park Service Forest Ranger - they carefully handle each cacao bean to unlock nuance, regionality, and terroir-driven flavors in their chocolate. Ranger’s chocolate and treats are made with utmost attention to detail, ethically sourced organic cacao, and fine ingredients. Their love of the outdoors is reflected by donating annually to the Friends of Trees and Audubon Society.

Cacao Region
Davao, PhilippinesOne of the smallest big cities in the Philippines, Davao City is affectionately known as both the cacao and durian capital of the country. In fact, often you'll see both fruit trees growing on the same plantations within city limits, yet due to large soil & cacao varietal differences, you'll find that the resulting chocolates taste nothing alike. The region is so widespread that there's even a citywide speed limit that makes a trip from one end to the other take nearly two hours without traffic!
Cacao Estate
Kablon FarmsSixty years after his parents moved south for a better life, Ernesto Pantua, Jr. is still running his family’s cocoa farm in the Mindanao region of the Philippines. Now known as Kablon Farm Foods Corporation (KFFC), the estate is home to a multitude of fruit trees of all types, including heritage criollo and trinitario cacao trees. But the fully organic farm didn’t switch over to their current sustainable farming approach until the 1980’s, when a steep price drop for industrial fruits forced them to add value in a new way. In the on-site workshop, Ernesto’s team turns the varied produce from the farm into jams, juices, and coconut- & cacao-based products, as well as selling some of the fruit directly to the public. Ever since its first export in 2015, however, Kablon has become a remarkable source of fine flavor cacao from the Philippines, now available in chocolates made around the world.
