Using locally grown dates from the Liwa oasis in the UAE, together with freshly ground fennel, Mirzam creates a paste which is used to fill a delicate chocolate bar shell.

Like all their dark chocolate bars, this bar is made entirely from cocoa bean to delicious bar at Mirzam's Alserkal Avenue space. This is gluten free and vegan friendly - containing only natural spices for flavor.

They pick their cacao from regions located along the maritime spice route where traders sailed hundreds of years ago to exchange spices and ingredients. These locations such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea and India inspire Mirzam to create their unique tasting chocolate bars. Mirzam opened in 2016 and have already won multiple awards for different bars.

Great bar if you enjoy licorice

This chocolate bar has a thin layer of paste inside so it's not chocolate all the way through. Only buy if you enjoy black licorice. My family does and we couldn't put it down.

Fantastic

My favorite flavored dark chocolate from Mirzam. I like it more than their Coffee & Cardamom (no filling) and the Star Anise, Figs, and Cinnamon (dried figs are too hard). Has a wonderful date and fennel filling which matches perfectly with the thin dark chocolate shell.

Absolutely divine. I generally like fennel but was initially apprehensive when I caught the strong whiff when I opened the bar- boy was I wrong! Once the initial overpowering aroma wears away, the dates + fennel are really something else. By far the best bar I’ve ordered in a while.
