Since the 1980's Bonnat has continued to pioneer the creation of single origin bars. They work with 35 different plantations around the globe to produce bars that showcase each cacao’s unique flavor. Bonnat works closely with each farmer, so he can see first hand each vital step that goes into his fine quality chocolate bars.

In our quest to find the tastiest 100%, the Bonnat is leading so far.

Did a side-by-side taste test between the Pralus and the Bonnat, which won unanimously. A few specifics: The Bonnat had a slightly sweet aroma, and this was completely borne out by its subtly fruity taste. Like the Pralus, it’s texture was creamy. But the Bonnat is definitely chocolate that can stand alone if you’re not of the mind to pair it with coffee, port, fruit, nuts, or whatever it is you might pair your 100% with.

This bar has a great texture and a hint of sweetness. As the other reviewers noted, it is also a great value compared to many others in this 100% category. This may end up replacing Pralus as the bar I order a few of and keep on hand at all times.

My Go-To 100% Bar

I have to keep one of these in my stash at all times. It’s a great value, true, but I like it because it’s a multitasker. I eat it. To me, it’s fudgy. And when I put a piece in hot cocoa, it elevates it to a treat that makes an average day become special. Also, it’s great for baking. I’ve used it in cakes, brownies, and buttercreams. I’m always amazed by how much better quality chocolate makes baked goods. Bonnat knows what it’s doing with this bar.

a great bargain for 100% dark chocolate

this is certainly the most bang for your buck when it comes to 100% chocolate. indeed, comparable in price for a single bar of all the other 100%, however this bar is 2 to 3 times the size (weight) as many of the others. despite this fact, it really is a tasty 100% chocolate. it's rich in cacao fats, which give it a thick and nice melt to it.
